An orphanage in Kasarani District, Nairobi, Kenya

The Founders/Director

While ministering in the Mathare slum they came to realize most of the kids were orphans who were affected and infected by HIV. They were moved to start a feeding program and to reach out and help the destitute and abandoned children around them.

The Current Centre

Zion Institute International is currently operating within a couple rental houses. They have few beds and kitchen utensils.

Source of their Funding

Currently Lift the Children is the only ongoing financial support. They also receive money from church groups, well-wishers and friends.

Areas of Endeavor

In caring for the children they provide them with food, schooling and shelter. They also attend to the children by offering them guidance and counseling.

Present Challenges

The most pressing need they face is in having enough money to provide for housing, school fees and the staffs wages. They also desire to have a project that will provide them with the ability to help sustain themselves.
