About Vineyard Children’s Centre
Founded by Margaret Muthoni Muigai Three years ago, Vineyard was meant to give hope to the most vulnerable, destitute and orphaned children. However lack of resources has seen the orphanage struggle to keep up with the needs. During LTC visit, we found that the children were living in a difficult environment, there were no beds, they barely afford daily meals and even had to cook from outside.
With all these challenges, LTC is urgently looking for someone who can adopt this centre and through their support, help improve the quality of life for children.
At the moment, all children are brought to the centre by well wishers, local chief and some by the Children department.
Margret is committed to giving the children the best home but then she needs help
The orphanage has no basic needs, from sleeping rooms- the current one is badly leaking when it rains and the whole premises gets flooded. They do not have a Kitchen- they cook from outside. Children are struggling to attend school because there are no fees to pay for them.
What you can do to help
What is needed urgently is monthly funding to restore normalcy- help them pay rent, buy food and take care of the immediate survival for the children.
Later, they need to be assisted to buy beds, find a better and safer place to host children and ensure school attendance.
What to Expect
You will be in direct contact with the orphanage and LTC will continue to train and equip them with necessary skills to improve their standing. This means, we will monitor progress and update you accordingly. We will also enroll Vineyard Children home into our network where she can access various other centres and learn from them. This will enhance her quality of care for the Children.
