Background Information

Toto Angel Center started as a daycare facility in Kanguruwe slums, Nairobi by Elizabeth Waitherero. Elizabeth was abandoned as a young child and faced many challenges that hindered her ability to complete her education and have a bright future. Elizabeth opened Toto Angel Centre to provide children living in similar conditions with a safe place to spend the day, at least one warm meal, and an essential foundation in education to enable them to succeed later in life.

Toto Angel Center serves children who have been affected by the high prevalence of HIV, illness, poverty, gang-related crime, illicit drugs and alcohol, and unwanted pregnancies. The centre relies on the help of well-wishers to feed and educate the children. Additionally, they have a vocational training center and also make school bags and uniforms as part of their income-generating activities.
