Background Information

Sons of Manasseh Children's Home was started in 2007 in Dagoretti near the slum called Ndunyu by the late Rev. Joseph Munywoki and his wife Beatrice Kirigo Thuita, moved to a rental property in Ngong Elpaso in 2009, and finally acquired land in Kiserian in 2012 and was registered by the Government of Kenya under the Ministry of Labour and Social Services. Sons of Manasseh works with vulnerable children including orphans, abandoned, street, and all children in need. It also supports children from a Maasai Community where girls are at risk of FGM, being forced into early marriages, and where boys are often forced to drop out of school to graze cattle.

The children at Sons of Manasseh receive education, psycho social support, and all the basic needs of food, shelter, medical care, protection, and more. The home works with boys and girls from as young as 3 years and all the way up to university aged young men and women. Current needs for the home include funding for school fees, uniforms and supplies, bedding, hygiene products, detergent, pampers, and food stuffs such as: rice, beans, maize flour wheat flour, ndengu potatoes, milk cooking fat, sugar, etc.
