The Founders/Director

Father Kizito is a missionary who helped to found the Koinonia community. The Center is an initiative of the community. The goal of the Center is to provide children with shelter, food, an education, and access to health care.

The Current Centre

There is a dormitory for the children, a small dining room, and an area outside with a garden and a place to play soccer.

Source of their Funding

The main source of funding is the non-governmental organization Amani for Africa (Italy). They are also supported by Lift the Children and well wishers. (Both local and international)

Areas of Endeavor

The children are provided with a safe place to sleep as well as food, clothing, and medication. The center also does significant work to empower families affected by drugs, financial hardship, and domestic violence.

Present Challenges

The center is currently in need of support for the children’s education. More funds for community social development are also a priority at this time.
