Fountain of Life Children's Home was founded in 2000. It began as a feeding program targeting street boys from East Leigh's jam street. We would provide them with one meal per day and they would go back to the streets. One evening a shop close to where the boys used to sleep was broken into. Later when security officials came the thieves were long gone. Out of suspicion they beat up the children who were sleeping on the nearby pavements. The children thought of a safe place they could run to and came to us. Many years down the line we are now blessed to have a big children family.
We have 38 children under our care. 23 are in high school and 15 are in various classes in primary school. 15 of these boys reside at the home and 23 are in outreach.
We receive a monthly support of 25,000/= every month.
We are located on Komarock road off Kangundo road, Mowlem area in Nairobi.
Address; 29487 — 00100, Nairobi.
Our Director is Bishop Florence Mbai
Our neighborhood is very dynamic. We are located at a very strategic location with slums like Umama slum, Mwengenye, Dandora and Maili Saba being very close to us. The church where the home is located acts as a safe haven for many children from these areas. And that is how we get to interact with some vulnerable children and identify their needs.
Source of their Funding
Funding for Fountain of Life comes from Lift The Children, Fountain of Life Church, well-wishers and World Orphans.
