An orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya

The Founders

Eljoy Education Centre was founded by Pastor Elisha and Mrs. Joyce Omurunga. After starting a school in the community, Joyce, a teacher, discovered a pressing need to help the orphans that were coming to school.

The Current Centre

Eljoy is currently renting their facility. One of the rooms they use as a kitchen during the day and convert it to a bedroom to accommodate the children at night.

Source of their Funding

They receive income through the school fees that some children are able to pay, as well as support from the community and well-wishers.

Areas of Endeavor

The centre strives to provide children with food, shelter, clothing and an education.

Present Challenges

The most challenging problem they face is providing shelter; the cost of the rental rooms they use is quite expensive. Other challenges include providing the children with enough food, clothes and medicine.
