Ngong is in the outskirts of Nairobi town, its in kajiado county, it is child friendly though a semi arid area, we have masai culture dominating here . But we also have other tribes. Rachel Gichia started Dream Children’s Home to help children orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The vision is to have children who can be responsible in the future- children who are whole and alive.
Dream Children’s Home is located on its own land and is registered by the government of Kenya. Dream Children’s Home houses provide dormitories for the children. Currently, LTC is the sole source of ongoing financial support. They receive some foodstuffs from Subaru Kenya and Osho Grain Millers. From time to time, they also receive support from local organizations and neighborhood well-wishers.
A feeding program, public primary schooling, and medical care is provided for all our children. Guidance counseling is also provided for the children as they grow are some of the things Lift the Children funding is helping the Orphanage to pay for.
